Toshiba Electronics Europe has expanded its range of processors dedicated to image recognition with the launch of series TMPV760. Supported by 14 hardware accelerators for image recognition, the first device of this new series will simplify the implementation of advanced driver assistance (ADAS, Advanced Driver Assistance System).
The integrated circuit TMPV7608XBG supports the classic features of ADAS:
- autonomous emergency braking (Usa, Autonomous Emergency Braking)
- traffic sign recognition (TSR, Traffic Sign Recognition)
- warning of approaching the lane line (LDW, Lane Departure Warning)
- assistance in maintaining lane (LKA, Lane Keeping Assist)
- Highbeam Assist (HBA, High Beam Assistance)
- notice of a frontal collision (FCW, Forward Collision Warning)
It also supports several new applications in the developing world that will be included in the Euro NCAP safety tests in 2018, including recognition of traffic lights (TLR, Traffic Light Recognition) and the detection of pedestrians at night.
The model integrates two new accelerators TMPV7608XBG CoHOG che garantiscono un riconoscimento delle immagini molto più accurato, especially in low light conditions and at night.
Also, the processor supports an accelerator SfM (Structure from Motion) capable of detecting images that are not part of a predefined library.
The new processor Toshiba is able to handle multiple applications simultaneously in real time thanks to a multi-core heterogeneous. The device integrates the new accelerators for image processing and eight media processors (MPE, Media Processing Engine) supported by FPU (Floating Point Unit) che effettuano calcoli aritmetici in virgola mobile a doppia precisione. Il chip è disponibile in un contenitore in P-FBGA da 796 spheres of dimensions 27 mm x 27 mm. The distance between the spheres is 0,8 mm.
