That the integration between lighting, intelligent control technology and well-being was now a “must” for the worlds of electronics and lighting was now taken certain, but over 300 operators in the sector that earned the success of Lumen & Wireless Fortronic testify to the need to confront more and more about the latest trends in this sector continues to expand and evolve. A great business opportunity, therefore, that requires a technological background adequately updated.

Assodel, (Italian Association of Electronic Districts) offered, with the forum vertical promoted under the aegis of’International Year of Light 2015, an opportunity to make some progress in this need to upgrade to integrated products and intelligent, declining LED and wireless solutions in the concept of smart light, energy saving and “Human Centric Lighting and Technologies”. In addition to the conference sessions, the possibility, as in any event weblog Fortronic, to know the latest news from the market in the exhibition area.

Program of the Day

The day's program is being developed and is constantly updated

9.30: Welcome and Introduction – Franco Musiari, Assodel,

Part I: Smart Solid State Lighting

When man becomes the first recipient of the lighting of the environments in which they live, those who produce lighting systems must become more sensitive to how to respond to these new requirements that combine energy saving to the welfare of those who travel in a daylight.

09.40: The "Human Centric Lighting" starts with the light of the latest generation LEDs - Ettore Fici, Bridgelux by Melchioni

A new approach "human centric" to the development of new LED products with a new attention to the colors and their perception by the human observer with the CRI requires a new index - the Gamut Area Index (GAI) to better measure how light and color are perceived. The CRI provides a measure of consistency in color reproduction but the eye is also sensitive to the color saturation, which takes into account the JHA.

10.00: The perfect light for a perfect day - Alessandra Biondi, Long Lasting

In a million years that man has walked the earth before our eyes, the brain and body have learned what it means to a spectrum of light perfect for our needs. Our behaviors, our emotional well-being and our interactions depend on the perception of light and color.
The light interacts with and affects the life cycles sleep / wake, predisposes to relax or stimulate better performance …

10.20: How can multicolor emitters contribute to human centric lighting - Wojtek Warmth, LED Engin by Acsel Electronics

The lecture discusses various available multicolor emitter technologies, their potential contribution to the growing trend of human centric lighting and summarizes yet unfilled requirements which still stand before LED industry.

10.40: Un sistema smart parte da un 'light engine' smart - John Marafelli, Xicato by Altec

The integration of a drive capable of a 'dimming' gently progressive, a dynamic thermal management and a diagnostic system together with particular attention to the color and its maintenance over time make the proposed solution the best compromise between efficiency, costs and quality of light.

11.00: Visit exhibition and coffee break

Part II: The Smart Wireless makes the lighting more

For a more intelligent lighting serves a connection that makes it manageable, also remotely.

11.30: The future of control: intelligent wireless - Paolo Bergamini, Harvard Engineering

From the analysis of the market shows that the majority of the buildings of old design and that the bulk of the luminaire has no control. For both becomes necessary modernization! In the presentation are compared control methods based on traditional and wireless ZigBee protocol and the entire ecosystem of support.

11.50: Lighting 2.0 : communication and control with ST - Luca Salati, STMicroelectronics by EBV Elektronik

Lighting 2.0 and 'the LEDs but also, and more and more ', monitoring and regulation with respect to the surrounding environment. An innovative platform which serves as the basis for intelligent systems for streetlighting, home lighting and buildings.

12.10: Wireless technologies for lighting: KNX / DMX, Zigbee, BlueTooth - Carlo Celi, Casambi by Myte

Explains the different technical characteristics of the main wireless technologies used in the lighting industry, comparing performance and technical limitations, installation, architecture and costs.
Will deepen the confrontation between Zigbee and Blutooth Low Energy, the two protocols that provide the greatest benefits for lighting applications and, in particular, will illustrate the solution Casambi based BlueTooth Low Energy.

12.30: Dust Networks : SmartMesh Embedded for Wireless Sensor Networks -Simone Angelici, Arrow Europe

SmartMesh IP, embedded wireless solutions with high reliability and ultralow power. The SmartMesh IP born compatibility for IP, is standards-based 6LoWPAN and IEEE 802.15.4e and find broad applications , especially in the industrial, energy management e infrastructure.

13:00 Visit exhibition area and light lunch

Afternoon Session: and educational workshops organized by the participating companies

Sala Borromeo

14.00: Seoul Semiconductor presenta ACRICH3: New Modules LED 230V - Stefano Di Paolo, Seoul Semiconductor by Melchioni

Seoul Semiconductor introduces new modules Acrich3 220Vac oriented lighting of indoor and outdoor industrial areas

14.45: The thermal management in a LED system by Assodel

14.45: Introduction – Franco Musiari, Assodel,
Thermal management in equipment LED is critical to the life of the LED and some analysts say the weight of the thermal management, in terms of cost, is 1/3 the system totale

15.00: Thermal Management of the different types of printed circuit boards for LEDPierpaolo Serafino, SERIGROUP by Myte
New technologies for the management of heat they developed for proper performance is bright and duration. to) Presentation and comparison FR4 materials - FR4 high thermal conductivity - IMS - flexible circuits; b) New interfaces thermal balance and not resistant adhesive.

15.20: Heat Pipe: high performance thermal solutionsFranco Musiari, Assodel,
An heat-pipe can be thought of as a super heat conductor which enables large amounts of energy to be transmitted with a minimal temperature gradient. In terms of thermal conductivity a heatpipe can exhibit a performance which exceeds that of an equivalent sized component made from pure copper by over 1000 times.

15.35: Virtual prototyping of LED systems: analysis of thermal effects – Gianluca LUALDI, Cadlog
The virtual prototyping of systems containing LED lighting has become increasingly important in accelerating the design phase and in reducing the cost of physical prototyping phase. In this session we will show how the technologies of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) coupled to 3D modeling allow a real power management (Thermal Management) for example in lighting apparatuses, and in the automotive field.
