The first 3D printer license plate RS

RS Components has announced the availability of its first 3D printer marketed under its own brand: a quality product for sale at a reduced price (736,77 euro + VAT) or to 30% in less compared to other 3D printers in the same class.

Aimed at a wide audience of potential users, between electronic and mechanical designers engaged in research and development, prototyping and testing, enthusiasts, teachers and students, the new 3D printer RS ​​IdeaWerk joins the family of solutions for rapid prototyping RS.

The details of the printer
The new printer IdeaWerk is based on the principle of Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM, Fused Deposition Modelling) and provides high-level technical specifications, including a volume of printing 150 x 150 x 140 mm with a minimum resolution of the layer of printing 0,18 mm. The print head works with single filament diameter of PLA 1,75 mm, also available in different colors.

The use of an environmentally friendly material such as PLA means that there is no risk of toxicity or chemical contamination, nor diffusion of unpleasant odors, which makes this printer particularly suited to the use homemade, as well as in industrial environment. The machine has overall dimensions of 298 (L) x 211 (P) x 403 (A) mm and weighs only 7,5 kg.

The 3D printer RS ​​IdeaWerk 3D is easy to use both in standalone mode or tethered to a PC, thanks to interfaces for SD card and USB. The printer is compatible with Windows and Mac operating systems, including XP, View, 7 and 8/8.1, and requires no software or additional accessories to operate.
