The refarming, in the field of mobile telephony, is a technical term which means the transition from one band technology “hold” (the old GSM) a long band (UMTS, WiMax or LTE). In other words, the band 900 MHz e 1800MHz previously allocated to GSM technology can now be used for other mobile phone standard broader band. Italy was one of the first European countries, between 2008 and 2009, to approve the band refarming 900 Mhz and, with the 2014, ended the process of restructuring of the spectrum GSM 900 initiated by the Ministry of Economic Development in recent years.
The thing began to feel even on the field. Indeed, in some regions, systems developed in the early years of the M2M, and necessarily based on GSM technology, have had difficulties caused precisely by the lack of GSM service. The refarming also tend to expand and systems based on standard 2G rapidly become obsolete. To solve this problem there is a solution: convert the current systems of the highest standards.
