AMP releases a new standard

Made on the basis of the four standard initial published last November, the consortium Architects of Modern Power (AMP Group) has announced the release of a New Standard whose goal is to define mechanical and electrical specifications for the common development of conversion technologies for advanced power systems for power distribution. The standard “teraAMP ™”, developed for dc-dc converters of the type Pol (Point-of-Load) not isolated, refers to operating power supplies with rated currents between 90 120A and mechanical configurations and supports both vertical and horizontal.

The standard is in addition to previous “microAMP ™” and “megaAMP ™” PoL digital devices for covering the current ranges from 20 25A and 40 and 50A respectively. All these standards are valid for both horizontal and vertical configurations.

The activity of AMP Group
The formation of AMP Group, announced in October 2014, nasce dall’esigenza di proporre alimentatori tecnologicamente avanzati e ad alta efficienza per le architetture di potenza distribuite e garantirne la disponibilità da parte di più fornitori. I membri di AMP Group hanno deciso di ampliare la standardizzazione coinvolgendo le specifiche elettriche e le prestazioni, including monitoring functions, control and communication that now you can implement with digital controllers. This allows AMP Group to define common configuration files to allow interoperability of type “plug and play” between the products of the consortium members, which currently includes CUI, Ericsson Power Modules e Murata.
